Letter, 1929.

The collection contains a letter written in 1929 by Williams, then 84 years old, about his Civil War experiences. He mentions several battles, that he voted for Lincoln in 1864 though not of age, and that after Lincoln's assassination "the officers could hardly keep the soldiers from burning the city [of Raleigh, N.C.]."
